 RULES & WINNER SELECTION

  1. Run at least one session of Into The Maelstrom during the month of October. Every session you play counts as another entry. Campaigns that have already started, one-shots, campaigns that extend after October, and Halloween night mega-sessions are all acceptable!

  2. Post a public photo or screenshot of your game and your group to social media (Reddit, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, or Bluesky), tagging us (@Limithron). Use the hashtag #IntoTheMaelstrom where possible. Any members of your group may post, but only one post per session will be counted as an official entry. For in-person groups, the photo can be of the entire group in cosplay, a shot of your gaming setup, a scenic shot of the group's miniatures on a model ship, etc. For online groups, it could be a group shot of your Zoom session, a screenshot of your VTT, your landing page, etc. The photo must have evidence that more than one player is playing. You are welcome to blur or cover people's faces if they wish to remain anonymous.

  3. No A.I. Absolutely no A.I. content will be allowed in this contest. Photos suspected of being enhanced or doctored with A.I., or gaming sessions using A.I. generated content will be reviewed and potentially disqualified. You may use apps to adjust basic photography elements like brightness and contrast, but no "photobashing" please!

  4. Complete this brief survey. Only one member of the group needs to complete it, and once for the entire month.

  5. All entries must be submitted by Midnight MDT, Thursday, November 5th. That mean you photo(s) has/have been posted publicly and someone has filled out the survey so we know where to find them.

  6. Winners will be announced via our social media outlets and notified via email on November 6th.

  7. Each participating group will receive six (6) Maelstrom stickers and event exclusive discount codes for at-cost merch in our online store. Stickers sets will be mailed to one address, anywhere in the world we already ship to. Limit one per group (though we may include extra stickers if you have a larger group).

  8. Two winners will be selected to win the Grand Prizes. One in-person group and one online group—chosen by the Limithron team—will receive six (6) Into the Maelstrom d2 coins, one (1) Into The Maelstrom tee or hoodie, and one (1) limited edition copy Down Among the Dead signed by Luke Stratton a.k.a. Limithron himself!

FAQs

"Do only public-play Harbourmaster games count?"  No. This contest is for every gaming group, public or private.

"What if we've already started the adventure?"  That's fine. Just start counting sessions run in October.

"Do we have to finish the adventure?"  Nope. Just start running it. But you should because it's fun.

"Do we have to run it completely as-is?"  Nope. Just keep in the spirit of the module.

"What social platforms count?"  Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, Bluesky, Reddit, and TikTok.

"Where will winners be announced?"  Discord, email, and the TALK PIRATE BORG Facebook Group.

"What are the photos judged on?"  We'll be picking the photos we think best represent Pirate Borg, the "vampirate" nature of the adventure, the Halloween spirit, and overall creativity. Playing in costume, cosplaying NPCs from the adventure, playing on location somewhere interesting, using detailed terrain or painted miniatures, using props, or other enhancements will likely get you noticed. For the online category, were looking for players that dressed up on camera, detailed VTT setups, creative landing pages, etc.

"How will the general prizes be awarded?"  In early November, we'll send an email to every group who completed the survey. You'll get promo codes for free stickers and discounted merch in the shop. The two grand prize winners will also be announced, and we'll coordinate with you directly for your rewards.
